The BTO is a registered charity event, dedicating the proceeds from select activities to support Soldier-On.

Toonie Toss Pro Jam

Let’s celebrate the sport Canadian James Naismith invented in 1891, Basketball. Throw a Toonie ($2 coin) from our Free-throw line into the basket to dance with the Pro dancer of your choice.

Toonies may be purchased at our T-Shirt sales table or during the jam at the DJ booth. A Soldier-On charity activity.

Judge the Krazy Canuck Challenge

The Krazy Canuck Challenge is more than a Pro-Am Jack and Jill. It’s a celebration to our daring Canadian Alpine Men’s ski team, known around the world as the Crazy Canucks. 

COMPETE: Eight Leaders and eight followers selected from Prelims are paired with our Pro staff where the sixteen couples battle for first place through head-to-head elimination battles in the finals. 

JUDGE: We’re inviting anyone to judge the Krazy Canuck Finals. We’ll select seven ticket-draw holders from the audience to judge each round. Grab your tickets at event time from the DJ Booth. Tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5. A Soldier-On charity activity.

Charity Pro Strictly Judging

JUDGE: It’s your last chance to make a difference. Cast your vote for the top four dance couples with a $2 donation for Solder-On judging the Charity Pro Strictly. After all the couples dance, you place a ticket into the voting containers of your top four picks.

Friday Masters Meet & Greet

We’re hosting Masters 50+ competitors in the Bytown meeting room, located on the third floor. Be sure to add the free M&G ticket to your registration to help banquet services prepare.

Saturday Night Kitchen party (a $60 meal included with your purchased pass)

Experience our version of a Down East Kitchen party. With a mix of Celtic and Old Jam music playing, we are serving up a buffet meal for all – Meat lovers, Vegans, Vegetarians, and those following a Gluten or lactose-free diet.

Saturday Night Floor Show

Enjoy a collection of dance performances.  We invite local talent, attendees, and staff to join the show.

 Sunday’s 2-hour Building Trust with Sonya and Nelson

Do you look at the cool moves like the rides, monkey bars and leverage and think: Ahhh, they ‘re just for advanced people!

They are for people who have TRUST with their partner!!!  How do you build trust, first through correct body mechanics, then connection, then subtle human cues between partners.  Join Nelson and Sonya for their two hour  intensive and learn how to build trust with different partners!

Coach’s Corner –  The best coaching advice a 5-minute private offers

Our Pros have donated 30 minutes of their time for you to get a quick tune-up while helping Soldier On. You can grab two privates with two different coaches or any remaining time slots within an hour of Coach’s Corner starting. Check out our T-shirt sales Booth to sign up or the DJ booth at event time. A Soldier-On charity activity.

Levelled Classes –  Competitors skills training

You must qualify to compete at the workshop level or higher or register for an audition for placement. You may sit in on levelled workshops one level above your WSDC or Assessed level. We still offer workshops for all to attend and are introducing special workshops for non-competitors.

Workshops – Social Moves

These workshops are offered to all dancers, with each class featuring moves that range from difficult, less difficult, and easy. Those attending a specific class that they find difficult may simply continue the workshop off to one side.
 

Workshops – Beyond WCS

We are offering those not competing the opportunity to attend free workshops that feature different dance styles like Country Two-Step, Nightclub two step, and Line dance. Visit Ballroom B to experience any of these classes.

Soldier On

Soldier On supports Canadian veterans and serving members to adapt and overcome permanent physical or mental health injuries or illnesses through physical activities and sports.
